Other work in progress
In addition to the work I’m doing for my residency I’ve been trying to get some other paintings completed.
This painting has been reworked so many times that I’m sick of it. It’s staying as it is now, for the time being at least!
This is its sister painting. It’s drying at the moment, then I will overlay the figure. Still undecided whether to use the same figure in mirror image or whether to use something else.

What I’ve been doing/not been doing
I haven’t blogged for a while because I’m in the process of a house move that became unnecessarily stressful and complicated. I packed up all my painting gear in early December but then the move didn’t happen as scheduled. So I’m not painting at the moment which is very frustrating especially with two exhibitions on the horizon.
However I started my AA2A residency last month and have made a start on a new series of paintings, some of which are/will be screen printed on.
I have big plans for 2014. I won’t be painting until after the move in early January but will then be painting up a storm. I’m also hoping to blog at least once a week with new paintings.

Snow in June?
Photo by Jane Barwood It’s the hottest week of the year so far and I am painting snow. I’m working on a painting inspired by Wordsworth’s poem “Lucy Gray”. It’s for an exhibition on the theme of poetry and prose. I’ve been looking through all my photos of snow from years past.
