In these paintings I have introduced figures. Inspired by old snapshots, records of unique moments in time – fixed, frozen and never to be repeated. The figure in silhouette creates an essence rather than a specific, emerging from the darkness of the past.

Paintings 2012

My paintings feature the house as a motif to describe the human experience of existing within the landscape, yet feeling detached from it – the strange dichotomy in which we are in and of the landscape but feel disconnected from it.
